The "Take the long way home" approach proved beautiful tonight when instead of the GWB I pressed on via 278 South. As the skies turned more and more dramatic I knew I had to find a vantage point for a view of southern Manhattan. Because I had chased my good friends on the Sloop Clearwater to many a memorable dock, I knew Red Hook was gonna do it for me, well, on the emotional level at least. But it was a gorgeous day to chase a sunset and here are the pics to prove it.
While there I met this Asian lady who just loved photography. She was there with her Canon on a tripod and a tethered remote and making great pics knowing nary a technical bit. It was really fun to just hear her and watch and relearn as the light faded and she got a boat's lit rigging streaking across the frame. So much to keep relearning! Enjoy.
